Dr Satyaprakash Ray Choudhury, Consultant- Surgical Gastroenterology, Sum Ultimate Medicare has a brilliant academic career and had worked as Associate Professor and Head in IMS & SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar. He has skilled with major Hepatobiliary surgeries, Colorectal surgeries, Esophagectomies, Gastric surgeries, Bariatric surgeries, Advanced laparoscopic surgeries and Robotic surgeries.

He has performed enormous numbers of laparoscopic surgeries like laparoscopic gallbladder and appendix surgeries, laparoscopic benign and cancer conditions of gastrointestinal tract. Minimal invasive surgeries provide early recovery and minimal scar, which he performs regularly for colorectal cancers, gastric or small bowel cancers, esophageal conditions and hepatobiliary conditions. There are several surgeries which were classically done in open method are now being performed laparoscopically with better results. Laparoscopic emergency surgeries are now evolved and are being done frequently. He had performed hundreds of difficult hepatic resections, pancreatic surgeries and biliary cancer surgeries in recent days.  Pancreatic and gallbladder cancers, if operated early give the best chance of prolonging the survival. He propagates the same principle to provide awareness among the people and the fellow colleagues. Many referred patients of jaundice secondary to biliary or pancreatic cancers were successfully treated by him. He has been associated with liver transplantations done in Odisha. He is well trained in Robotic surgery in renowned institute, JIPMER, Puducherry, and now aiming bring Robotic surgery to SUMUM and to provide best advanced surgicare care to the patients.
