Dr Swetapadma Dash, Chief Executive Officer of SUM Ultimate Medicare and the woman in the hot seat at the moment. Appointed to the post in December 2018, Dr. Dash is a name that needs no introduction in the field of healthcare in the region, having served in several operational and strategic roles in her relatively young career. Dr. Dash who is one of the youngest CEO in the region started her career as a Clinical Counselor and over the next eleven years, she advanced up through positions of progressive responsibility holding multiple leadership positions and achieving purposeful and formidable performances. A native of Cuttack, Odisha, Dr. Dash is the eldest of two siblings and was raised in typical Odia family values which placed a premium on hard work, education and never say die attitude. Dr. Dash showed promise from an early age and hit the right notes by excelling in academics and extracurricular activities. She topped the Berhampur University in her B.A. graduation course and was also recognized for her all-round skills in debating, singing, expository writing, and other leadership initiatives.

An alumna of The Vani Vihar (Utkal) University of Odisha at Bhubaneswar, she received her Master's degree from Manasagangotri, Mysore University where she was awarded the Gold Medal in Clinical Psychology. Over her career, she has worked across many verticals and has deep experience in medical and hospital management combined with a comprehensive background in research and academia. She earned a Ph.D. in (Clinical Psychology) from Utkal University and has been an active champion for women's empowerment recognized by several groups for her leadership and motivating prowess. Before being appointed as CEO of SUM Ultimate Medicare Dr. Dash spent nearly nine years in Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, where her rise to positions of seniority and power was nothing short of meteoric. During her tenure in Apollo, she served in various management positions spearheading entire functions of Quality Management, Patient Care, Audits and Research and was the prime driver on key strategic initiatives. Her ability to make things happen and her clinical efficiency in executing organizational objectives were recognized when she was appointed DGM Operations, Quality & Research in 2016. Most recently, she was designated Head of QMS for Odisha & Chhattisgarh Region for Apollo.

While the challenges she faced were many and some even more complex, Dr. Dash impressed one and all with her growing presence and changed the perceptions about leadership in her unique way. In a short period, Dr. Dash has blazed the trails for future women leaders with a litany of leadership promotions and professional accomplishments. She was conferred with "Kalinga Virangana" title in Odisha for 2017 and "Best Health Care Personality (Quality Management) of the Year award" at the Medgate Today Magazine India Healthcare Awards-2016.She was also awarded the "Pride of Odisha" award by Inner Wheel Club of Cuttack, in the year 2013. Among a host of other awards are included the “Best Quality Manager of the Year- 2013” and "Special Jury Nomination Award-2015" in recognition of outstanding achievements, diligence, noble services and sustained contributions to the health care & society by the prestigious Six Sigma Healthcare Excellence Awards.
